What Type of Wax Do We Use?
When starting Pax Rosa, I wanted to provide the cleanest burning candle. After months of research, I decided to use soy wax. Soy wax has many benefits including:
- Non-toxic- no toxins, carcinogens, or pollutants which means our candles are less likely to trigger allergies.
- Longer and cleaner burn- soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin wax. Therefore, soy candles will burn slower than other waxes, such as paraffin, giving you several hours of burning time in just candle. Our candles burn for 40+ hours.
Soy wax is biodegradable- Since soy wax is derived from the soybean, it is a natural element that can be easily cleaned up with soap and water. Trust me, after hours of pouring wax all over my counters, I can attest to this!
What is in a Fragrance Oil?
I select every fragrance for each candle carefully. I prayerfully choose a scent that helps to tell a story of a Saint or a story in Scripture. All of our fragrances are phthalate-free and adhere to RIFM and IFRA standards for safety and purity. The scents may be created from safe essential oils, natural oils, and/or premium fragrance oils (which may contain essential oils and/or synthetic aroma chemicals).
What is the Vessel and What's in it?
All of our vessels are made of blown glass and are reusable! When your candle is done burning, you can clean out the jar with soap and water, and reuse in a variety of ways. My favorite way is on a prayer table!
The wicks are woven from cotton and paper and primed with all-natural wax.
